About us

Gary Hayward (Head Brewer) - Gary's (below left) background is in industrial chemistry, clinical pathology and space technology. his interests include oriental culture and modern history. Gary founded the brewery in 2004 as a desire to run his own business. He combined his knowledge of bio-chemistry with his passion for real ale.

Jason and Tracey Soden - Jason and Tracey (below) have been at The Sportsman since 2008. Gary's beers have been enjoyed by their customers and they jumped at the chance to join Red Squirrel Brewery and work with Gary to help develop the Brewery.

Beth (Administration/Sales Manager) - Beth has been involved with The Sportsman pub for a number of years earning her way through university. Since gaining her degree, Beth has accepted the challenge of overseeing administration operations and sales.

Charlie (Distribution Manager) - Charlie has joined the family business after working in the construction industry. His role involves fleet maintanence, delivery and stock handling.
